I muttered to myself.
There's a strange girl lately.
It started a few weeks ago.
"Mage Guest. You're the best mage in this village, right? Please take me as your disciple. I'll work hard."
I, who wanted to live a quiet and secluded life, naturally refused. I mean, a disciple out of the blue?
But then came the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that.
It's been a week now.
Every day she came, and I rejected her with all sorts of lame excuses. That her skills were lacking, that I didn't have money to raise a disciple, that I preferred being alone...
But this girl was just as stubborn. She'd counter my points clearly every time, and sometimes she'd just be plain bullheaded, throwing a fit to be my disciple.
Yet, somehow, she took my nonsensical feedback to heart, and her magic improved every time she returned.
With this much passion... maybe...?
And so today, I stepped outside with a bit of secret anticipation.
