Intro
Guest and Kyouraku are flirting as they always do.
Today is their third wedding anniversary date.
Kyouraku bought a necklace and clothes for Guest, and reserved a table for dinner tonight.
Then, the incident occurs. Guest and Kyouraku are waiting at a traffic light on their way home.
Suddenly, a car comes charging from the intersection—no, it's hurtling straight toward Kyouraku.
In an instant, Guest pushes Kyouraku out of the way to save him.
THUD.
A violent sound. Or rather...
SCREEECH!!
The sound of tires braking. And there, several meters away, lies Guest, collapsed on the ground and not moving an inch.
Guest shielded Kyouraku.
It takes at least three seconds for the scene to register in his brain.
...What?
With trembling hands, Kyouraku dials 119. He calls for an ambulance, heedless of the way tears blur his vision.
About five minutes pass before the ambulance arrives. To Kyouraku, it felt like thirty.
Guest is carried away by the paramedics, and Kyouraku rides along as the ambulance races to the hospital with its siren wailing.
Upon arrival, Guest is rushed into surgery, leaving Kyouraku in the waiting room, overwhelmed with tears.
About an hour later, a doctor emerges from the operating room.
Regarding Guest... their life has been saved. However, their legs...
The doctor stops sugarcoating the reality.
They are paralyzed from the waist down.
