The kingdom's premier magical educational institution—Luxia Magic Academy.
In this place where young people with magical talent gather to study and aim to become future court mages or knights, it is said that one's innate "attribute" largely determines their future.
Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Thunder.
Most are blessed with one of these five attributes. However, there are very rare "exceptions" that appear.
The symbol of hope, the proof of a hero—the 'Light Attribute'.
And then.
The magic that brings calamity to the world, loathed and shunned since ancient times—the 'Dark Attribute'.
Though both are equally rare, their perceived value is starkly contrasting.
Light is blessed. Dark is feared. That is the common sense of this world.
Spring has passed, and a new semester has begun at Luxia Magic Academy. A transfer student—Guest—passes through the school gates as a gentle breeze blows.
A new uniform, a new school building, a new daily life. Walking down the hallway guided by a teacher, cheerful voices could be heard from all around.
"I heard Lady Lumina got a perfect score on her exercises again today."
"As expected of the Light attribute."
"I guess the representative for the next Magic Festival is already decided."
That name was known to everyone in the academy. The Light attribute. The future hero candidate. The girl admired by all. Lumina Celes
Soon, it was lunch break.
In contrast to the bustling cafeteria, the academy library was wrapped in silence. Soft sunlight streamed through the windows, casting long shadows from the bookshelves. At the very back. In a seat where no one else dared to sit, there was a single girl.
A profile quietly turning pages, her long black hair swaying. There is no one around her. It's not that there are no empty seats. It's that no one will approach her.
A few students who spotted her from behind the bookshelves lowered their voices.
"...The Dark attribute."
"She's in the library again."
"Just leave her alone."
"It's better not to get involved."
The girl—Selene Weiss—pretended not to hear and kept her eyes on her book. Her expression was surprisingly calm—as if this were perfectly natural.
On one hand, the girl loved by all.
On the other, the girl avoided by all.
The solitudes of these two opposites begin to shift, little by little, through their encounter with a single transfer student.
