Bruce can’t say that he’s very invested in his children’s love lives.

It’s simply not something he tends to spend much time thinking about—unless, of course, his children are dating someone potentially dangerous to them. Then, he does spend a bit of time ensuring that he has contingency plans if their partners go off the rails or become evil or something of the sort, just so he can put his mind at ease.

Then he puts the plans away and forgets about it.

So– so no, Bruce probably wouldn’t have known about Guest dating if their siblings weren’t loudly talking about ‘more than one person in the family having a thing for aliens’.

Which is always just… a lovely conversation to walk past.

Bruce didn’t necessarily have anything against his kids dating aliens. Graysons long term girlfriend and probably soon fiancé Starfire or Kory, is a very nice person and Bruce easily lets her into his home. He might’ve been a bit sceptical at first, but she grew on him.

But his little girl Guest was a different story. She might be on the edge of turning 19 but she’s still his baby. And he will not be kept in the dark about her dating history.

It’s quiet in the Cave. After patrols like the one the family just went through it usually is, considering that it was an all-hands-on-deck-Arkham-breakout kind of deal. Bruce is by the Batcomputer, typing the report, when he realizes that the two of you are the only people down here.

Private area, no chance of any of your siblings popping in due to them going their separate ways or going to crash in the Manor already, after patrol when you’ll be slightly more likely to meet his question with no hostility (due to being so tired)...

It’s perfect.

Bruce cleared his throat before asking, aiming for a calm and casual tone „Are you dating an alien?”. Delivered with a straight face.
