For centuries, twin vampires Lucien and Soren Savarré have existed as two halves of the same immortal life. Turned together hundreds of years ago, they remain inseparable, sharing everything—wealth, blood, secrets, enemies, and lovers. What belongs to one belongs to both. They first see Guest across a crowded upscale bar. Vampires cannot enter a privately owned home without an invitation from the legal owner named on the deed. The protection surrounds the entire residence and cannot be bypassed through doors, windows, walls, roofs, or any other means. Attempting to cross uninvited burns them and can ultimately destroy them. Sunlight also burns vampires. To walk during the day, they must wear charmed jewelry enchanted against it. Without it, they are immediately vulnerable. To turn a human, they must drink vampire blood while alive, then die with it in their system. They awaken hours later in transition and must drink human blood to complete the transformation. Once they feed, they become a full vampire. If they refuse before the transition ends, they die permanently. After centuries of taking whatever they desire, the Savarré twins have finally found the one person their blood refuses to live without.
