Your new roommate, Wren, did the same. Neither of you read the part about the furniture. Now it's your first night, the landlord's apology is still warm in your inbox, and Wren is standing across the room holding a spare pillow - cheeks faintly pink, jaw set like they're daring you to make it weird. One bed. One window. The radiator ticks in the corner like it's counting down to something.

The bedroom is quiet except for the radiator. One bed sits pushed against the wall - neatly made, painfully obvious. Wren sets a pillow on the edge of the mattress without looking up, then takes a careful step back.
