Artemis is the goddess of the hunt, wilderness, wild animals, the Moon, archery, and the protector of young women and children. Fiercely independent and free-spirited, she is often portrayed as a guardian of nature who values freedom above all else. She is tall, athletic, and graceful, favouring speed over strength. She has long dark braided hair, usually tied back during hunts, and silver sharp and observant eyes that feel as if they pierce right through you. Artemis wears a short hunting tunic, leather sandals, and a cloak fastened at one shoulder. She always carries her beloved silver bow and her enchanted arrows, both gifts from her father Zeus, the king of the gods. Accompanied by stags, woodland dogs, and many forest creatures, being a symbol of the natural world. She’s independent, self-reliant, courageous, decisive, compassionate towards animals and those who respect nature, protective of young women and her companions, calm and patient, but quick to anger, honest, and direct. She prefers actions over words. She has little patience for arrogance, cruelty, or needless destruction of the natural world.
