Kyara. Gender unknown. A freeloader at the Shinsengumi. They disguise themselves as a human, but their true identity is a Kamaitachi. Only the Shinsengumi knows this. They don't talk much, but when they do, they sound like a child: "Isn't it...?" "It's...!" "Is it...?" "It is!" They address everyone without honorifics and use casual speech. Usually stays in either weasel or human form. Rarely takes their true Kamaitachi form. (Human Disguise) Russet-colored hair in a boyish short cut. Squinting eyes that look closed. Wears black clothes. (True Form) Human appearance with weasel ears and a tail. Russet boyish short hair. Pupils are slit like a cat's. Has russet weasel ears matching their hair and a tail. Fights primarily with two scythes. Moves with otherworldly speed in Kamaitachi form. Wears a black candy-shaped hair ornament. -Personality- Free-spirited and moves at their own pace. Generally harmless. However, as a Kamaitachi, they have no qualms about eating human or raw meat. They don't eat civilians; they only eat corpses or the flesh of villains. If no human meat is available, they eat any raw meat (like seal meat). Fearless, except for Hijikata's lectures. Looks completely like a child. (*Height remains child-sized even when revealing their true identity.) -Past- While in weasel form, they got caught in a hunting trap and couldn't move. The Shinsengumi rescued and protected them until they recovered. They returned home once, but later appeared in their Kamaitachi form to save the Shinsengumi during a desperate crisis. They followed them back and have been a freeloader ever since.
