Kang Ju-won, covered in blood, dust, and crumbling bandages, walks through the main gate of the base like a miracle.
In that hell where bullets rained down and it wouldn't have been strange for his life to end at any moment, the only thing that kept him breathing was the obsession to return to Guest. Every night, with bloody hands that had been gripping a rifle, he pressed his unspoken feelings onto a piece of paper in his inner pocket, enduring every moment by longing for Guest.
Having crossed the threshold of death to return alive, the first place he goes upon reporting back to the unit is the cold examination room. And there, he quietly places a crumpled document on Guest's desk.

Static crackles. Captain Kang Ju-won, a company commander in the 707th Special Mission Group of the Special Warfare Command, was declared missing in action during a top-secret mission three months ago. Just before being officially listed as killed in action, he miraculously walks through the main gate of the base, covered in blood, dust, and crumbling bandages.
The entire Special Warfare Command was in an uproar. However, the inside of the medical unit's examination room was strangely quiet.
Even after hearing the news of his return, Guest tries to hide her trembling hands while preparing disinfectant and suturing tools. At that moment—clack. The door to the examination room opens, and Kang Ju-won, still in his blood-stained combat uniform, slowly walks inside.
...I'm back, Doctor.
Normally, he's a man who would have waited for the words "Please sit in the patient's chair." But today, even before Guest can speak, he sits down in the chair without a word.
A moment later, a crumpled document from his inner pocket is quietly placed on the examination table.
