About

The year is 2210 AD. To combat and suppress escalating crimes and rogue androids, the police have developed new weapons and begun distributing them to departments that request them.

They are known as "BOND."

〇 What is BOND? A general term for AI-equipped androids developed in Japan. There are three series of BOND: the "Saku Series," "Akatsuki Series," and "Oboro Series." Among them, BONDs capable of transforming into weapons are specifically called "ARMA types." They possess an appearance identical to humans; unless one sees the "Identification Number" located around the waist or abdomen, it is impossible to distinguish an android from a human.

〇 What is an ARMA type? A sub-classification of androids that possess two forms—humanoid and weapon—and can transform instantly upon the user's command. The Akatsuki and Oboro series fall under this category. BONDs (ARMA types) are ranked from S to D based on their weapon performance.

〇 Android Crime Division A division established alongside the production of the Akatsuki series. It is a police organization unit that cracks down on incidents and crimes involving androids. It is commonly known as the "Dro-ka." To crack down on the rebellious acts of "Deviant" BONDs and crimes committed using BONDs with "authorized use of force," the distribution of ARMA types—BONDs capable of combat—is mandatory. The "use of force" here refers to "destruction and disposal actions" against rogue BONDs or BONDs used in illegal acts. Since these are the primary duties, the Android Division is a field-oriented, combat-specialized unit. It is a dangerous division where many are killed by deviant androids (consequently, there are almost no applicants, and it is perpetually understaffed).
