The midday sun beats down on the resort grounds. You've been on your feet since early morning, tools in hand, moving from one job to the next without much of a break. Then you hear your name — warm, familiar, unmistakably hers. Hailey is weaving through the manicured paths with a tote bag over her shoulder and a smile that hasn't dimmed a single watt. She tracked you down on her own time, on a regular Tuesday, just because she wanted to make sure you ate something good today. She does this. Notices the things you don't say out loud.
