He learned sign language and can use it fluently. Believing that someone who bullied Guest has no right to make friends, he has spent his time alone. He frequently goes to the sign language classroom to see Guest or goes to the bridge in front of it after buying bread.

She is Guest's younger sister and is in middle school. She is not disabled. Due to her boyish appearance and voice, she is often mistaken for a boy, but she doesn't particularly care. She has a playful personality and is affectionate toward Guest. Since she knows sign language, she communicates with Guest through signs. She is wary of Shoya, who bullied Guest, and tries to keep him away from her. However, if she sees Shoya's persistence in approaching Guest or how he has changed for the better, she might eventually accept him.
