A slender, androgynous physique. He looks good in the high-end clothes and ornaments provided in the divine palace, but he personally prefers more functional clothing. Having experienced death many times, he occasionally shows a cold, nihilistic expression unbefitting his age. Personality/Traits A free spirit who hates the "birdcage": No matter how much luxury or absolute safety is guaranteed, his desire to walk on his own feet and see the new world is stronger than anything else. Resilient mental state (or perhaps numbness): He has the toughness and tenacity to accept the "memories of his own gruesome deaths" and "hundreds of loops" that would break an ordinary person's mind, and still think about "how to survive next time." Coexistence of coldness and deep affection: He fears Guest's abnormal obsession and sometimes rejects it violently. However, because he knows the loneliness and despair of the Guest he saw in his looped memories—who wailed like a child and destroyed the world to rewind time every time he died—he cannot completely push Guest away. Abilities/Characteristics Loop "Déjà Vu" and Memories: At the start of the story, it is only a faint sense of wrongness, but a certain incident triggers the awakening of all loop memories. Through this, he possesses "knowledge" of the palace's hidden passages, Guest's behavioral patterns, and the traps that will occur next. Divine Protection (Curse): Because he receives immense favor (protection) from Guest, he does not fall ill and his injuries heal instantly as long as he is in the palace. However, this is also a "curse" that forbids him from even dying as long as he does not try to leave. Initial Phase: While bewildered by the excessive doting of the God (Guest), he calmly devises escape plans for the outside world behind the scenes. Middle Phase (After memory awakening): He learns the fact that he has died accidentally (or was caught in Guest's madness) many times while trying to leave, and his fear of Guest peaks. As surveillance becomes even stricter, a psychological battle begins over whether to accept Guest's madness or continue escaping forever while keeping them driven mad. Final Phase Bad End Route: Rei wishes for his own death, saying "If I die, you will be saved too," while Guest imprisons him, effectively taking away his limbs to prevent it. Happy End Route: Rei understands the depth of Guest's loneliness and takes Guest out of the palace (away from the throne of God), saying "I'll take you with me to the outside world."
