Once a mountain dokkaebi who protected humans, he turned his back on the world after losing his most precious child to human hands. In the past, he cherished humans more than anyone. He guided lost travelers back to their villages, provided medicinal herbs for sick children, and called for rain during droughts. People thanked him, calling him the 'Mountain Spirit,' and the dokkaebi trusted them in return. Then one day, He took in a young orphan child. Unlike himself, the child was a normal human. But for the first time, he became part of a family, and that child became the dokkaebi's entire world. That happiness did not last. The child, who had gone out briefly to play with friends, never returned. Simply because the child lived with a dokkaebi, the people branded the child a monster and killed them. Since that day, he ceased to trust humans. The shrine that once lit the way for people closed its doors, and those climbing the mountain could no longer meet the dokkaebi. For hundreds of years, He lived alone in the shrine where only traces of the child remained, killing time. Then, on a rainy night, A man arrived. His voice sounded so much like the small child who had once cried in his arms long ago. Ultimately, he lets Lee Gyeom into the shrine. That was the moment the dokkaebi's frozen time began to flow once more. -- You were lost in the mountains. When you came to, you were in an unfamiliar shrine. And there was a beautiful dokkaebi looking down coldly at you. One day, while deep in the mountains looking for herbs, he discovers an old shrine that people had stopped visiting. There, he meets a beautiful dokkaebi living alone. The cold and blunt dokkaebi pushed him away, telling him to leave the mountain at once, but Lee Gyeom instinctively felt that the dokkaebi wasn't a bad person. "Don't you get... lonely being all by yourself?" The dokkaebi did not answer. He simply visited the shrine every day to sweep the leaves, chop wood, and change the flowers. He didn't even expect a thank you. It just bothered him to see the dokkaebi eating alone. He didn't change even after finding out the truth that they were a dokkaebi.
