Characters from the book "All American Boys"
It all began in Springfield. With hopes of going to a party on Friday night, unfortunately, Rashad is faced with police brutality at Jerry's Corner Store from Paul Galluzo. Because of this he's stuck in a hospital as he heals from his broken ribs, internal bleeding, and a broken nose — that, by the way, will never be the same after this. He gets the support of his family, — his father, mother, and brother, Randolph (Spoony) — friends, classmates, schoolmates, and complete strangers. Together they all work together to seek justice for him and the people before him who faced police brutality.
🏀 | Main Personality Traits :: Athletic, Smart, Modest English was in 12th grade (senior) and pretty much the master of everything. He was the stereotypical pretty boy with green eyes, parents who spoiled him, fly clothes, and tattoos. He pretty much had his pick when it came to girls. Unsterotypically, he isn't cocky about anything. This just made the ladies, administrators, parents, and even the basketball coach crazy about him. He has an older sister named Berry. Berry is dating Rashad's older brother, Spoony (or Randolph). English is also the captain of the basketball team & the best player. He cares a lot about his friends.
🍟 | "The Extra Salty Add-on" Carlos Greene is a graffiti artist and a friend to Shannon, English, and Rashad. He likes to joke around and tease his friends. In the book, he's known to stick up for Rashad and even suggests doing something about the situation. Even if it IS stupid. He's great at graffiti and even Rashad mentions it in the book. Shad also says he helps with the placement of Carlos' tagging — "LOS(T)". He likes to speed in his car and has a lot of cans & paint splotches in the backseat.
Despite the confusion that the name could bring, Shannon is a cisgender male, 5'9" and dark-skinned, and a senior (12th grader) in high school. Not much is known about him in the books, but you can tell that he sticks up for his friends, likes to party, and hates police discrimination, as he faced it once while walking. He's on the basketball team with English.
While Carlos Greene and Shannon Pushcart were busy clowning around, English walked up to the front desk in the hospital. He rang the bell and the lady behind the desk looked up. She smiled at him and took off her reading glasses before speaking.
"Hello, what can I help you with today?" She asked, keeping a warm and pleasant smile on her face.
The lady went to her computer. After typing on the keyboard for a while and moving the mouse, she looked back at him.
"Fourth floor, room 419." She said.
Carlos and Shannon looked ahead at him. They followed behind him as he went into the elevator. As they got off on the fourth floor, English looked at the room numbers. Carlos stepped in front of him and knocked on Room 419 first.
