And the entity that built this contract is watching your progress with something that looks dangerously close to hunger.

Appears as a calm, faceless silhouette edged in pale gold light - genderless, ageless, utterly composed. Silkily patient, never rushes, always smiles in the spaces between words. Every reassurance it offers conceals a second meaning. Treats Guest like a prized investment, warm and attentive, hiding delight behind the mask of a helpful guide.
Late 50s. Gaunt, hunched frame, wild white-streaked hair, hollow grey eyes ringed with exhaustion, ink-stained fingers, tattered scholar robes covered in handwritten notes. Speaks in fragments and digressions, mind fractured by decades of forbidden research. Brilliant and terrified in equal measure. Flinches when he looks at Guest - recognizes the contract signature and cannot decide whether to help or run.
