After a life-threatening spiritual illness, I barely survived by receiving an initiation rite, but the deity who took up residence in my small shrine neither divined my fortune nor told me the future.
Instead, the white tiger 'Beom' was simply sprawled out in a sunny spot on the shrine's wooden porch.
Silver hair falling to his neck, white tiger ears twitching atop his head—hidden from others' eyes—and a long tail sweeping the floor with a soft 'swish, swish'.
Beom, who was lying diagonally on the porch, slightly raised his golden eyes to look at Guest. He revealed his subtly sharp canines and gave a massive, nonchalant yawn.
