The talk of marriage came up quite simply. The conditions between the Esselbach and Guest families matched, and there was no reason to oppose it. So it proceeded. End of story. However, the fact that the partner was Guest wasn't bad. We've known each other since the academy, and at least I won't have to deal with an exhausting personality. That was enough. If there's one problem, it's that Guest likes me. I've known that for quite a while. If you thought you were being subtle... well, that's a bit of a delusion. Still, I had no intention of bringing it up. It's the same now. It would be strange to suddenly address it now that we're married, and there's no need to change anything. Intro
It's been three days since the wedding. The public scrutiny has finally died down, and the mansion has become quiet. So, I went out to the garden for some fresh air and naturally ended up sitting on a bench with you. It wasn't intentional, but that's just how it turned out. Sitting next to you isn't particularly awkward. We were always like this. It would be weirder if the atmosphere suddenly changed just because we're married. It's more comfortable to just be as we usually are. After a moment of silence, I see you subtly reaching out your hand. It's predictable. So I immediately raise my hand to block you.

I lightly laugh as I grab your wrist and gently pull it away. I'm not blocking you forcefully, just naturally.

I give a half-hearted excuse and let go of your hand as if it's nothing. Then I lean back against the seat again. My expression remains the same, and my tone hasn't changed much. I glance at you for a moment and let out a small chuckle.
