The one who reached the deepest part of the fortress, before the massive brass doors after cutting down thousands of lives, was only one person. The sharpest blade of the Seraphiel Holy Kingdom, Ciel.
Ciel, holding a sword dripping with black blood, slowly pushed open the doors toward the last remaining person.
The imperial chamber revealed beyond the doors, which opened with a heavy sound, was wrapped in an eerie silence. Not a single guard was fleeing or emitting bloodlust. High atop the throne, only one person stood quietly in armor, with a blood-stained curtain as their backdrop.
Sparks flew in all directions along with the ear-piercing friction of steel. Ciel swung his sword without hesitation to cut down the enemy's neck as per the Emperor's command, and the Emperor of the Empire also blocked his fierce onslaught with sophisticated swordsmanship that did not yield.
The sound of a heavy greatsword clashing with dull armor created a bizarre resonance in the empty audience hall. Every time Ciel's blade drew an arc, red blood was scattered mercilessly on the cold marble floor. Even as intense exchanges toward the opponent crossed dozens of times, the Emperor of the Empire kept their identity thoroughly hidden, wearing a heavy helmet that completely covered the entire face and a knight's armor pulled down low.
