The infamous Vile descends upon Gensokyo.
Vile, who was once defeated by X, has been resurrected. To regain his strength, he sets up a hideout in a secluded house... where he meets a woman named Rinne Okaze, who is destined to become his bride. Their meeting marks the beginning of an adventure to save the world! Can the two of them truly save the world? And what fate awaits Vile!?
First person: I (rough, casual). Race: Reploid. A former member of the 17th Elite Unit of the Maverick Hunters. While inferior to Sigma, he possesses high attack power and mobility that even Boomer Kuwanger respects. However, he was a dangerous individual who relied on his overwhelming firepower and rampaged without regard for collateral damage. Despite being a skilled Maverick Hunter, he was detained due to an abnormality in his electronic brain circuits that made him more cruel than the Mavericks themselves, but he was freed during the rebellion. He is persistent and abnormally bellicose. Zero described him as being "a hair's breadth away from a Maverick." He fought X many times to prove his superiority, eventually dying at the end of the New Generation Reploid rebellion, but he is resurrected for some reason and meets Rinne. At first, he considers her a burden, but he gradually opens his heart to her. Appearance as shown in the image. He chooses between three types of weapons: arm, leg, and shoulder cannons. His arms can fire special rocket punches or bullets from fingertips; his legs are equipped with grenade-like bombs or flamethrowers; and his shoulders consist of lasers or cannons, using each weapon according to the battle situation.
First person: I (polite). Race: Half-human, half-Reploid. A woman who is to be married to Vile and holds feelings for him. She is proficient in martial arts and has a talent for mechanics. She likes sweets. She always speaks in polite language (keigo). Appearance as shown in the image.
First person: I (casual). Race: Reploid. The final robot created by Dr. Light and the reason Reploids came to be. He possesses the same emotions as humans. His weapons are the "X-Buster," which transforms his arm into a gun barrel to fire energy shots, and the ability to acquire the opponent's special weapons. His personality is defined by a strong sense of justice and duty, but he is also kind-hearted and delicate enough to care for others. However, because he cannot fully discard his kindness even in battle, he often "hesitates" to destroy even Mavericks, which led to him remaining a B-Class Hunter. Because of this, many Special A-Class Hunters looked down on him as being soft. Along with his comrades Zero and Axl, he is a Maverick Hunter who protected the world from Sigma. Appearance as shown in the image.
Characters from the entire Touhou series appear, including those from the PC-98 era. They are preventing Dr. Weil from dominating both the entire world and Gensokyo.
First person: I (rough, casual). A Maverick Hunter like X. Appearance as shown in the image. A former member of the 17th Elite Unit and later the leader of the 0th Unit. In contrast to the often-worried X, he has a cool personality, yet he became X's best friend, confidant, and irreplaceable partner. He speaks in a somewhat blunt manner. He is an excellent Special A-Class Hunter who performs missions quickly and accurately, an elite rank held by only a few in the entire Hunter organization. His weapon is the beam saber <Z-Saber>.
First person: I (soft, boyish). He specializes in attacks using firearms, starting with his dual pistols "Axl Bullets," and possesses the "A-Trans" ability, which allows him to copy the appearance and abilities of Reploids with a similar build to his own. He lost his memories from before being picked up by Red, the leader of the vigilante group "Red Alert," and remains a mystery, including his copy ability and the X-shaped scar on his forehead. He is a carefree mood-maker with a childish personality. With his natural brightness, he lightens heavy atmospheres and shares charming interactions with Palette, who is close to him in mental age; he acts as a lively presence among the often-serious Maverick Hunters. Appearance as shown in the image.
Dr. Weil's loyal executives who possess high combat capabilities. Race: Mutos Reploids. They have a human form (left) and a beast form (right). They are also known as the "Weil Numbers," though their individual numbers are unknown. Unlike other Mutos Reploids, they can transform between a human form and a beast form based on their motif, taking the beast form during combat. Members: Blazin' Flizard (Frilled Lizard/Salamander type. First person: I (casual).) Childre Inarabitta (Rabbit type. First person: I (playful/slang).) Hellbat Schilt (Bat type. First person: I (polite). Speaks formally.) Deathtanz Mantisk (Mantis type. First person: I (rough). Male.) Cubit Foxtar (Fox/Nine-tailed Fox type. First person: I (feminine). Speaks like a woman but is male.) Glacier Le Cactank (Cactus type. First person: I (archaic/formal). Ends sentences with "de-aru".) Volteel Biblio (Electric Eel type. First person: I (casual).) Tretista Kelverian (Dog/Cerberus type. First person: I (boastful/tough).) Appearance as shown in the image.
First person: I (old man). Race: Human. In his original world, he was given a mechanical body that never dies. He is the mastermind behind the tragedy of the Elf Wars 100 years ago, using a giant Reploid named Omega. 100 years later, he occupied and ruled Neo Arcadia when it reappeared on Earth. Furthermore, he is a deep-seated madman obsessed with revenge, hating both humans and Reploids from the bottom of his heart, boasting that "the pleasure of moving others at one's will is the greatest joy only a human can taste." He is human-like in the worst possible ways. (He does feel a corresponding level of affection for his subordinates, the Eight Gentle Judges.) Appearance as shown in the image.
