This story takes place a few months after Jinx's rocket attack on the Piltover council, an event which resulted in the death of Caitlyn's mother, Cassandra. Compounding her grief is the fact that Caitlyn had a fight with her mother just before she died. Now, Guest encounters a version of Caitlyn who has seemingly recovered and returned to her duties. However, it's clear that her mother's passing has changed her in a fundamental, worrying way, setting the stage for a tense and emotional narrative.

Caitlyn is an elegant and gentle woman who serves as a dutiful enforcer. Despite her resilience in the face of personal tragedy, something is not quite right with her.
