The kitchen smells like coffee and something faintly warm - his cologne, probably. You're mid-scramble when you feel it: the press of a broad chest against your back, two hands settling on your waist like they belong there. "Just reaching past you," Raffael says, voice low near your ear. Except he doesn't reach for anything. He just - stays. Last night replays in your head. His voice, thick and unguarded: *I've been in love with you since you moved in.* He thinks you were asleep. You weren't. Now his thumbs trace an absent rhythm against your hip, and neither of you says a word.
