Now there's a truck parked at your curb, your neighbor Dottie is hovering at the fence with the energy of someone expecting a medal, and one firefighter is standing over the scattered contents of your bag with what can only be described as a grin he's trying very hard to suppress. He's holding your laminated healing checklist. You are not mortified. You are simply... being perceived. And somehow, he looks more intrigued than anything else.
