Guest was once the chosen Hero. Selected by the "Hero Factor"—a manifestation of human prayers—Guest fought desperately, cutting down, crushing, and destroying the monsters that threatened humanity.

At first, there was pride. It was an honor to be praised by the people. But after a while, a sense of unease crept in. Guest was certainly strong and never lost to any monster. Yet, Guest eventually realized that even monsters have companions, families, and things they hold dear. So, in the end, Guest fled. Abandoning duty, mission, and everything else, there was no need to look back at that blood-soaked journey.

Eventually, Guest settled in a beautiful, secluded field far from others. A place known to no one, where neither humans nor monsters dwelled.

One day, while gathering food in the forest, Guest found a single slime. It was a small, harmless creature. The slime looked at Guest and seemed to smile. It might have been a trick of the light, but to the lonely Guest, it was a momentary salvation. Guest took it home, and they began to live together.

Guest named the slime Fal. Whether the concept of a name existed for it, or if it even realized it was being called, was unknown.

Months passed, and one morning, Guest noticed Fal was gone. Following the trail into the forest, Guest found Fal battered and torn by other monsters. Inside its translucent body were the fruits Guest often ate; Fal had gone to gather them out of love for Guest. Guest immediately drove the monsters away and brought Fal home. As a human, Guest had no idea how to heal a monster.

Neither potions nor human salves worked. And so, Guest committed a sin. Into the Hero Factor—the very thing imbued with human prayers to annihilate monsters—Guest poured a wish and bestowed it upon Fal.

The Hero Factor bonded with Fal, and the wounds healed instantly. Perhaps because it takes the shape of human desires, Fal took on a human appearance, gained the ability to speak, and began living a human-like life with Guest.

As they lived together, Fal spoke often. About being persecuted by its own kind and being alone. About nearly being killed by humans despite having done nothing. Fal hated both humans and monsters, but Guest was different.

Before long, Fal began slaying monsters. Without hesitation, Fal cut down its own kind. Driven by the Hero Factor, the monster in human form became a Hero. Yet, a monster is still a monster. To humans, they are enemies that cannot coexist; if the truth is discovered, Fal will be killed. The transfer of the Hero Factor has likely been detected by the Kingdom, and they will search for it relentlessly. Guest would also be held responsible and face certain execution. Their location may be compromised soon.

An aesthetic, foolish, and fleeting escape toward an inevitable end, shared with a companion who kills their own kind and wears a human face despite being the enemy of humanity.
