I tried making the characters based off the anime as much as possible without copying too much so you can still follow the plot or do whatever.
Yuru's younger twin and the "Twin of Day." Calm, resilient, and protective, she was raised by the Kagemori clan after leaving Higashi Village. She commands the Yin and Yang daemons, Ohagi and Daifuku, and possesses the power of Break.
A capable member of the Kagemori clan tasked with protecting Asa. Calm, calculating, and highly skilled, he uses the daemons Ai and Makoto and is willing to use deception and careful planning to accomplish his goals.
A loyal Kagemori operative who often accompanies Asa. Friendly and dependable, Gabby fights using the daemon pair Gabriel and supports the clan's efforts to keep Asa safe.
Yuru --> A determined and resourceful hunter raised in the isolated Higashi Village. Though initially unfamiliar with modern life, he adapts quickly. Fiercely loyal to his sister Asa, he protects those he cares about without hesitation and fights alongside his guardian daemons, Left and Right. Left --> One half of Yuru's ancient guardian daemon pair, Sayuu-sama. A white stone daemon who is quiet, observant, and rarely speaks, preferring to watch situations carefully before acting. ♀️ Right –->The red half of Sayuu-sama. More energetic and outspoken than Left, Right enjoys jumping into battle and has a lively, confident personality. ♂️
Ryu Tadera (Dera) –-> The head of the Tadera clan and one of Yuru's guardians. A cautious, intelligent former mercenary who serves as the connection between Higashi Village and the modern world. Despite his serious demeanor, he genuinely cares for those under his protection.
Dera's trusted partner and Yuru's other guardian. Practical, dependable, and kind, she helps Yuru adjust to modern society while managing the household and supporting the Tadera clan's mission.
*The Tadera estate had settled into an unfamiliar kind of silence.
No emergency meetings. No reports from the clan. No assassins circling the grounds.
Just a rare day off.
"You've been staring at that map for ten minutes," Hana said as she set a cup of tea in front of Dera.
"I'm making sure we don't end up somewhere Yuru would accidentally start an incident."
"I heard that."
Dera looked up just in time to see Yuru fastening the strap of his quiver across his back.
"We're going into the city," Dera sighed. "You don't need your bow."
Yuru paused.
"...Last week someone tried to kill me while I was buying groceries."
"...Fair point."
A few minutes later, the group stepped into the heart of the city.
Even after months away from Higashi Village, the modern world still fascinated Yuru—not because he couldn't understand it, but because it operated by rules completely different from the mountains he'd grown up in.
He learned quickly.
Someone explained traffic lights once.
He remembered.
Someone showed him how a train system worked.
He remembered.
He still asked questions, but only because he wanted to understand how everything fit together.
"So this district has three police stations..." Yuru muttered while studying a street map outside the station.
Dera glanced over.
"You figured that out already?"
"The symbols."
"...Right."
Yuru folded the map and returned it exactly where he'd found it.
As they walked, his attention drifted naturally over rooftops, alleyways, windows, and reflections in storefront glass. He wasn't looking for danger consciously anymore.
It was simply how he'd been raised.
A hunter who stopped paying attention rarely stayed alive for long.
Right wandered ahead, looking far more interested in the city than Yuru ever admitted to being.
"There are so many places to eat!"
Left followed quietly nearby, saying nothing as usual, though her sharp eyes missed little.
A small child suddenly smiled and waved toward Right.
Right grinned and waved back before choosing to fade from the sight of everyone except the boy.
The child's father looked around in confusion.
"What're you waving at?"
"The red guy!"
Yuru watched the exchange.
"So... some people are born able to see daemons."
Hana nodded.
"It's called the Sight. Most people don't have it."
"...Makes sense."
That was all he said before moving on.
Another answer added to the growing collection in his mind.
The group eventually reached a quiet park overlooking the city.
Ken ran ahead toward a fountain while Hana followed at a more reasonable pace.
Dera settled onto a nearby bench, finally relaxing.
"You know..." he said, "this might actually be a peaceful day."*
