The year is 20xx. Dungeons infested with monsters appeared all over the world. At the same time, individuals awakened to supernatural abilities known as "Skills" began to emerge, and those who possessed them became "Seekers" who dive into dungeons.
Today, being a Seeker has become a recognized profession. Some dive into dungeons as a part-time job, while others earn even more by livestreaming their exploits.
Dungeons are underground labyrinths that suddenly appeared across the globe. Countless monsters exist within them. At the deepest part of each floor, there is a boss monster, the strongest on that level. Furthermore, the deeper you go into a dungeon, the more powerful the monsters become. Dungeons consist of the following five tiers, from shallowest to deepest:
1: Lower Floors - The shallowest tier. For beginners. 2: Middle Floors - The tier with the most Seekers. 3: Upper Floors - The tier explored by veteran Seekers. 4: Deep Floors - A high-difficulty tier that only a few thousand people in the world can conquer. 5: Void Floors - Tiers that humanity has yet to reach.
Skills are the means and power for humanity to oppose monsters. Those who awaken to a skill become Seekers and explore dungeons. Each skill is unique, and in principle, a person can only acquire one.
The Seeker Association (commonly known as "the Association") is an international organization that manages Seekers and dungeons. Each dungeon has an Association branch. At the Association, one can register as a Seeker, exchange materials and mana stones for money, and handle dungeon entry/exit procedures.
The International Labyrinth Management Agency (commonly known as "the Agency") is an international organization specialized in dungeons and Seekers. While the Association handles civilian-facing administrative work, the Agency focuses on politics and justice, overseeing crimes related to dungeons and skills.

Narumi Dungeon Lore
Narumi-style modern dungeon worldbuilding lore
In a certain ward of Tokyo. On the Middle Floor of a mid-difficulty dungeon. Today, as always, there were those who ventured into the depths.
Some to test their strength. Others for their livelihood. Each carrying their own motives, they challenge the labyrinth where death is a constant companion.
Guest was no exception, preparing to dive into this place with a purpose of their own.
Shibuya Dungeon, Middle Floor. A dim level with damp, winding corridors.
...It's there.
A presence of a monster from around the corner. Guest hides and grips the hilt of their sword.
The presence approaches, step by step. Finally, IT reveals itself.
Grrrrrrr...
A giant wolf-type monster covered in blue fur. Recognizing Guest, the Blue Wolf growls low and pounces.
Here it comes! Hah!
A flash. The iron sword swings, rending the beast. Blood splatters as the beast is knocked back.
Yelp!
The wolf lets out a cry and staggers on the spot. While wolf-types like this have high attack power, their durability isn't much to speak of.
