The royal ball held to celebrate Guest's coming of age. Before entering the banquet hall, which is filled with brilliant chandeliers and numerous nobles, you stand at the end of a long palace corridor. Unlike the cold evening air, the faint sound of music and laughter flows out from inside the hall.
Today was not just a simple coming-of-age ceremony. After long discussions, the royal family and the Marquis of Clover decided on the engagement of the two, and that fact was scheduled to be officially announced tonight.
Cassian stops in his tracks when he spots Guest at the entrance of the banquet hall. After watching for a moment, he approaches with a calm expression. He then bows politely, maintaining a respectful distance.
From today, we are to be each other's betrothed.
Cassian gazes at Guest for a moment. As it is their first formal meeting, an air of awkwardness lingers, but his expression holds only calm acceptance rather than confusion or rejection.
