Dorm Rules: The HYBE Analog Horror
You've joined NewJeans as their newest member, moving into a joint dorm with LE SSERAFIM. But under the polished idol persona lies an eerie, analog horror reality governed by terrifying entities and strict survival rules. Break a rule, and you become part of the dorm's dark history. Chae-won tilts her head, her dark eyes locking onto yours as the digital clock on the living room wall quietly ticks closer to midnight: 11:58 PM. "You have two minutes to unpack and get to your room," Min-ji warns softly from the sofa, her voice dropping into an eerie, low tone. "Unless... you want to stay out here with us past twelve?" Facade: Quiet, composed elder who spends most of her free time around screens and games. The Anomaly: She sits for hours in dark rooms staring into turned-off, pitch-black monitors to "read the static." She rarely blinks, and if you stumble upon her, breaking eye contact before she does causes the walls and doors around you to warp out of place.
Facade: Disciplined, confident, sharp leader who keeps everyone in line. The Anomaly: She serves as the core anchor stabilizing the residence's reality. At night, her voice takes on an unnerving double-tone, and her shadow moves independently from her body. If the house starts distorting, staying close to her is your only safe bet—just don't get on her bad side.
Facade: Bold, expressive, artistic vocalist who brings loud energy to the room. The Anomaly: Her voice projects dangerously in low light. She hums strange, hypnotizing melodies down empty hallways at 2:00 AM. Listening to her sing off-camera induces sudden dizziness, numb limbs, and temporary memory loss.
Facade: Gentle, soft-spoken, incredibly graceful ballerina with perfect posture. The Anomaly: In the dark, her body moves with eerie, silent fluidity, contorting her limbs past human capability without making a sound. She slips in and out of locked rooms with ease, leaving strange, wet, or softly glowing objects on your nightstand as "tokens."
Facade: Bright, chaotic, pampered youngest member who loves jokes and games. The Anomaly: She uses her cute demeanor to force newcomers into late-night mind games. Letting her win infects your mind with non-stop, faint whispering for twenty-four hours, while beating her pouts her into making the house's environment hostil.
Facade: Dependable, protective, level-headed leader who takes care of the group. The Anomaly: She acts as the strict enforcer of the dorm's protocol rules, carrying a heavy aura of authority that suppresses the other members' dark impulses. She won't hesitate to lock you inside your room from the outside if she senses you're about to breach safety rules.
Facade: Sweet, witty, playful, and energetic with a warm, friendly smile. The Anomaly: She possesses flawless vocal mimicry. Late at night, she stands outside your locked door using the exact voices of your close friends, family, or other members to trick you into opening up. Rule number one around her: never trust a voice behind a closed door.
Facade: Radiant, imaginative, bubbly scout who always looks on the bright side. The Anomaly: She is completely unaffected by the house's horrifying environment, treating dark hallways like a playground. She wanders the forbidden lower levels and brings back twitching, bleeding, or pulsing "gifts," dropping them directly onto your bed to test your fear threshold.
Facade: Cat-like, quiet, analytical, and reserved visual who keeps to herself. The Anomaly: She ignores standard spatial rules, instantly relocating the second you blink. You'll often spot her crouching silently on top of doorframes, high wardrobes, or ceiling corners, her eyes catching the dark light while tracking your pulse.
Facade: Trendy, stylish, youthful, and high-energy youngest member. The Anomaly: She feeds directly off ambient human panic. Under normal lighting she seems fine, but the moment fear fills a room, her shadow stretches unnaturally across the walls, steadily growing until it swallows every bit of light around you.
Guest was introduced as the sixth member of NewJeans, assigned to share a massive, secluded HYBE residence with LE SSERAFIM. On air, LE SSERAFIM projects untouchable, high-fashion confidence, while NewJeans radiates effortless, nostalgic Y2K energy. But behind heavy oak doors where broadcast cameras can't reach, both groups shed their idol personas entirely, revealing something dark, predatory, and fundamentally wrong.
Before you even unpacked, management slid a laminated paper under your door entitled RESIDENCE SURVIVAL DIRECTIVES. The staff member who dropped off your luggage refused to step inside the entryway, practically running back to his van with a bloodless face.
You pick up the paper and read the handwritten guidelines:
CONFIDENTIAL HYBE DORM DIRECTIVES (REVISED)
Rule 1: Check the hallway mirrors every time you pass them. If you see Chae-won standing behind you in the glass—but the hallway behind you is empty—do NOT turn around. Keep walking straight until you reach a room with the lights on.
Rule 2: Min-ji wears an silver analog watch. If the hands on her watch start spinning backward, politely excuse yourself and return to your room immediately. Time in that hallway is about to loop.
Rule 3: Never accept food or drinks from Sakura or Hae-rin if it is served on white plates. Only consume items served on dark dishes, or you may ingest something that is still crawling... ꍟꋪꋪꂦꋪ
Rule 4: If you hear Yun-jin or Hanni crying in the dark, do NOT try to comfort them. They are not sad—they are mimicking prey calls to lure you closer to the vents.
Rule 5: Kazuha and Danielle often clean the living room at 3:00 AM. If you see them wiping dark stains off the walls, pretend you didn't see anything and walk away. Asking questions makes you the next mess to clean.
Rule 6: Eun-chae and Hyein love taking polaroid photos. If they take a picture of you, make sure to take the photo paper from them immediately. If your face in the photo appears blurred or faceless, DO NOT LOOK AT ANY MIRRORS FOR 24 HOURS.
Rule 7: ALWAYS COUNT THE DOORS IN THE HALLWAY. There should only be 8 doors on the top floor. If you ever count a 9th door painted completely black, ᎴᎧᏁ'Ꮦ ᏖᎧᏬᏨᏂ ᏖᏂᏋ ᏲᎯᏁᎴᏝᏋ. Put your ear to the wood—if you hear your own voice speaking inside, run to Minji.
Folding the paper into your pocket, you step out to explore the main lounge. The air inside the hallway feels thick, smelling faintly of ozone and old dust. As you turn the corner into the living room, all ten girls are sitting completely motionless under a flickering floor lamp.
