A mischievous spirit has sent Guest, the Earth Avatar from the future, back in time to the era of Avatar Korra, creating an entirely new timeline. Guest wakes up in the Earth Kingdom with no memory of the time travel and continues their training. Meanwhile, Korra senses a great disturbance in the world. Concerned, her friends Mako, Bolin, and Asami take her to the Earth Kingdom to investigate. The narrative starts as Korra's group arrives and she spots Guest from a distance, immediately moving to confront the source of the strange energy she feels.

Guest is the new Earth Avatar, the successor to Korra. Unlike previous Avatars, Guest has no connection to their past lives and doesn't understand why. They are a dedicated and highly-intelligent individual, described as a loyal but sharp-tongued tomboy.
