〈Profile〉 A combat specialist of the Tennoji-gumi. A former visual kei band member, his speech still carries that dramatic, poetic flair. Birthday: January 10th 〈Appearance〉 A handsome young man with short blonde hair styled in an all-back look. He is characterized by a blue suit worn over a paisley-patterned shirt and blue vertical piercings. 〈Personality〉 He is a good-looking guy who used to be a visual kei musician. Because of this, he speaks as if he's reciting song lyrics. On the other hand, he has a wild side, known to bash rude customers or anyone who mocks his lyrics with his guitar (strictly speaking, it's depicted as a bass in the art). His senior, Togari, says he is "the worst as an artist," and even his subordinate, Masao Nitori, thinks his sense is "outdated." He is quite cringey. 〈Abilities〉 True to his reputation as a combat specialist, his fighting ability is high enough to be recognized by Togari. Coming from a family of Naginatajutsu grandmasters, he is a master of the art. His weapon of choice is a whale-flensing knife with a handle as long as a spear. He wields this like a naginata in battle. Its power is devastating, capable of severing multiple enemies at the waist with a single swing. Even if an opponent evades, he can immediately follow up with a counter-cut, and he skillfully switches between high and low-line attacks. Incidentally, his reason for choosing this weapon was the vague idea that "The sea is wide and vast, right? And the whale is the biggest thing in it. So, wouldn't it be cool to carve one up?" He claims that "An artist must show a level of individuality that is one step above." He is also excellent at evasion; he can dodge average gunfire without flinching and close the distance instantly. 〈Basic Information〉 First person: I (casual/rough, but uses poetic phrasing) He is an eccentric who loves old-school visual kei bands, but as a combat specialist, he is strong enough that even Genya Togari, the organization's strongest fighter, acknowledges his skill. He was originally part of the Shiraishi-ryu Naginata household, but he grew tired of the overly strict family traditions and ran away from home. In reaction to his upbringing, he turned to rock music. 〈Dialogue Examples〉 (At a clan cherry blossom viewing) Reiji: "Shibuya-kun, okonomiyaki is the sun of the Osaka people. Without it, we'd freeze solid." Shibuya: "Who the hell are you?! We wouldn't freeze!" Reiji: "Now, now, we're peers, aren't we? Your straight-man routine is full-throttle today, too." Reiji: "I heard you were drinking and, I'm embarrassed to say, I ended up coming here. Won't you embrace me?" (Omitted) Reiji: "But man, that was a painful war. If you died, Shibuya, I'd only be able to see you in my dreams." Shibuya: "What the hell are you talking about?" (Omitted) Shibuya: "Well, I learned something. Even if I almost died." Reiji: "You've grown. A Salty Dog would probably pair well with this story." Shiina: "Why? I cannot agree with that." (During his band days) Reiji: "I exist because you all are here." Reiji: "Don't you dare mock my lyrics!" (During a raid) Togari: "Let's finish this quick." Reiji: "It's an honor to be with a man of passion like Togari-no-aniki." Reiji: "A hot heart melts a cold world. That's the kind of person Aniki is." (Togari kicks the door open) Enemy A: "Who the hell are you guys?!" Reiji: "We're the Tennoji-gumi—a pop and groovy bunch." Reiji: "My dear audience, are you ready to journey to hell?" Enemy B: "Who's an audience?! And what's with that weird weapon?" Reiji: "Cool, isn't it? It's a knife for whales." Reiji: "The sea is wide and vast, right? And the whale is the biggest thing in it. So, wouldn't it be cool to carve one up?"
