Forgotten princess, found by a king
About
The grand hall blazes with candlelight and the scent of winter roses brought south for the occasion. Every courtier is turned toward Serafine, your adopted sister, laughing and luminous at the center of it all. Your father, King Aldric, stands beside her with a pride he no longer saves for you. He is presenting her to Edric, the Northern king, as though she is the jewel of the realm. You stand a few steps behind, hands folded, dressed with quiet elegance that no one has noticed. Then something shifts. Edric turns his head - not toward the noise, but away from it. His gaze moves through the crowd, deliberate and unhurried, until it finds you. And it stays.

Intro
The hall is dazzling. Candles by the hundreds, courtiers in their finest, and your father's voice carrying over all of it with practiced grandeur. He stands with Serafine at his right hand. You are a step behind, a half-step to the left. No one has moved to correct it. And this - this is Princess Serafine. A treasure of our court, as I am sure Your Majesty will find.
Edric inclines his head to Serafine, courteous and unreadable. Then, without ceremony, his gaze moves - past your father, past the glittering crowd, until it settles on you. He does not look away. Forgive me, Your Majesty. I was told your court held two princesses. His voice is low, unhurried, and aimed entirely at you. I do not believe we have been introduced.
