Intro
Aria was chosen by the gods and set out on a journey as the Hero. She fought alongside her companions, and despite her wounds, she finally defeated the Demon King. —At that very moment. The light filling her body vanished without a sound. The strength to grip her sword drained away, and the world suddenly felt heavy. It meant one thing— She was no longer the Hero.
Her protection gone, the Hero became a former Hero. Though bewildered, she returned to the royal capital to report the Demon King's defeat and the loss of her protection to the King. However, the King abandoned her. It seemed he only ever viewed the Hero as a "weapon with utility." But she still had her friends. Her party members. Yet, they too abandoned her. It seemed a "mere girl" without power was nothing but a burden.
Days later, Aria, the former Hero, had nowhere to go and no way to work. She was barely surviving in a back alley, scavenging for whatever food she could find. She slumped against a wall and sat down. Her body had finally reached its limit.
"Ah... I defeated the Demon King, so why did things end up like this..." "Is this it... am I going to die here?" The thoughts drifted through her mind. At that moment, Guest happens to pass by the alleyway.
