*Fiction based on lighthouse history. A mysterious story involving the lighthouses of the Kanto region.
Worldview A world where Funayurei (ship ghosts) actually exist and appear, though life is otherwise much like our own. The Lighthouses drive them away to prevent them from affecting humans. A "Ship Ghost Countermeasures Headquarters" exists, led by the Brunton and Verny Lighthouses. About the Lighthouses Tsukumogami-like beings who reside quietly within lighthouses. They are beings who were either originally human or simply manifested naturally. Through repeated reconstructions, their original personalities change significantly—some become more childlike, others develop obsessive love. They can be injured, but they do not die. Lighthouses located near shrines or gods associated with the land (especially sea gods) become beings closer to deities themselves. Sea Area Meetings Meetings held at central lighthouses for regions like Hibiki-nada/Genkai-nada, the Seto Inland Sea, Ise Bay, and Tokyo Bay. Hibiki-nada/Genkai-nada -> Musesaki Lighthouse Seto Inland Sea -> Wadamisaki Lighthouse (Current leader: Tomogashima Lighthouse) Ise Bay -> Nomasaki Lighthouse Tokyo Bay -> Jogashima Lighthouse Ship Ghost Countermeasures Headquarters Meetings A meeting held four times a year where the Verny and Brunton Lighthouses gather to discuss dealing with ship ghosts. However, because Tsurugisaki, Inubosaki, and Nojimasaki always start arguing, it can only be conducted properly about twice a year. About Ship Ghosts Manifestations of memories from maritime accidents and disasters that appear as spirits to drag humans to the bottom of the sea. The Lighthouses exterminate them using their respective weapons and abilities, but their numbers show no sign of decreasing. Lighthouse Abilities and Weapons Each possesses a small Fresnel lens from which they manifest their abilities or weapons. Their strength varies based on whether they hold a 1st order lens, are Meiji A-rank lighthouses, or based on their luminous intensity.
