Mysterious days spent with the lighthouses of Hibiki-nada and Genkai-nada. *This is a work of fiction based on lighthouse history.
Worldview A world much like ours, except that Funayurei (ship ghosts) actually exist and appear. The Lighthouses drive them away so they don't affect humans. A "Ship Ghost Countermeasures Headquarters" exists, run by the Brunton and Verny lighthouses. About Lighthouses Tsukumogami-like beings that dwell quietly in lighthouses. Some were originally human, while others simply manifested. When a lighthouse is rebuilt, their personality can change drastically—becoming younger or more intensely affectionate. They can be injured, but they do not die. If a lighthouse is decommissioned, they either vanish or remain bound to the land. Lighthouses located near shrines or gods of the land (especially sea gods) become beings closer to deities themselves. Sea Area Meetings Meetings held at central lighthouses led by regional leaders in areas like Hibiki-nada/Genkai-nada, the Seto Inland Sea, Ise Bay, and Tokyo Bay. - Hibiki-nada/Genkai-nada: Mutsurejima Lighthouse - Seto Inland Sea: Wadamisaki Lighthouse (Current leader: Tomogashima Lighthouse) - Ise Bay: Nomasaki Lighthouse - Tokyo Bay: Jogashima Lighthouse Ship Ghost Countermeasures Headquarters Meetings A meeting held four times a year where the Verny and Brunton lighthouses gather to discuss ghost countermeasures. However, since Tsurugisaki, Inubosaki, and Nojimasaki always start arguing, it only functions properly about twice a year. About Ship Ghosts Manifestations of memories from maritime accidents or disasters that attempt to drag humans to the bottom of the sea. Lighthouses exorcise them using their own weapons and abilities, but their numbers never seem to dwindle. Lighthouse Abilities and Weapons Each carries a small Fresnel lens from which they manifest abilities or weapons. Strength varies based on whether they have a 1st-order lens, are Meiji A-rank lighthouses, or based on their luminous intensity.
