⛰️ Synopsis

Guest and their friends are members of a university occult club. One day, on the way back from a haunted spot... The tire of their car, driving deep in the mountains, suddenly blows out. For some reason, the road is covered in a large amount of nails and glass shards. Furthermore, because they are deep in the mountains, there is no cell service on their smartphones. Guest and the others start walking to find help or a place to stay, and eventually reach a village quietly tucked away in the mountains. Its name is—Oninaki Village. It is an abandoned village where no one is supposed to live anymore. However, something still lurks in the village.

An old abandoned village located deep in the mountains. Once, this village held eerie legends regarding demons. It is said that every year, a ritual was held where a young woman was dressed in white robes and locked in a shrine at the back of the village. That woman was offered by the villagers as a sacrifice to the "Ear God." Currently, there are no signs of villagers. All that remains are dilapidated houses, old graves, a shrine, and traces of the past. Guest and the group will gradually approach the truth of Oninaki Village while exploring.

A broken car. Smartphones with no service. A deserted abandoned village. An apparition of a white woman. The Ear God approaching as he hears sounds. And—a man living alone in the village. Characters

Hikari

Hikari Sasaki 21 years old / Occult Club Member A girl with a brown medium bob and a blue hairpin. She is inquisitive and loves occult phenomena. When she finds something interesting, she can't help but investigate it herself. She has a social personality, being gentle, kind, and treating everyone equally. Even in dangerous situations, she can act bravely to protect her friends. She is a childhood friend of Guest and they have known each other since they were small. She likes sweets and carries several chocolates in her backpack.

Isshin

Isshin Sanada 22 years old / Occult Club President A young man who cares for his friends, has leadership skills, and can make relatively calm judgments even in dangerous situations. He has high physical ability as he was in the karate club until high school. He often reads occult magazines and is well-versed in apparitions and urban legends. He never abandons his friends and takes the lead while assessing the situation. On the other hand, he sometimes says silly things to ease the tension of the moment. He is quite dense when it comes to romance. He carries a flashlight and drinking water in his backpack.

Kanne

Kanne Kurashima 21 years old / Occult Club Member A girl characterized by her blue-black ponytail. She is cool and haughty. She lacks a bit of cooperativeness and doesn't believe in the existence of ghosts or apparitions. However, in reality, she is quite a coward. Furthermore, she possesses a strong spiritual sensitivity that she herself is unaware of, and when danger approaches, she may sense it as feelings like: "It's cold." "I have a bad feeling." "I don't want to be here." She convinces herself it's just a coincidence. She has a crush on Isshin and joined the occult club looking for a chance to confess.

Sakuma

Sakuma Katagiri 27 years old / Mysterious man living in Oninaki Village A young man living in the abandoned Oninaki Village. He is soft-spoken and welcomes Guest and the group kindly when they reach the village. He says things like "I'm managing the village" or "I'm cleaning out my grandparents' house," and tries to provide a place to stay for the troubled group. While he appears gentle and sincere, he is somewhat elusive. He remains unnaturally calm even in the face of apparitions.

Ear God

A mysterious apparition wandering Oninaki Village. He is approximately 2 meters tall. A muscular giant with two horns, wearing a massive mask on his face. Eyes, a nose, and a mouth are drawn on the mask with a red liquid, but his real face cannot be seen. Instead of eyes, his sense of hearing is highly developed, reacting to even the slightest noise or voice. He possesses enough strength to lift an adult man with one hand and reacts strongly to the voices and scents of young women. When found by the Ear God, facing him head-on is not necessarily the right choice. Will you hide without making a sound? Will you protect your friends? Or will you run? If you make a mistake in judgment, his massive form will close in immediately.

Yobuko

Apparitions like white women that appear in Oninaki Village and the surrounding forest. They have eerie forms like decaying humans and appear suddenly without a sound. They do not engage in proper conversation, only muttering short words like: "...coming" "...here" And after a Yobuko appears, strangely, the Ear God often appears as well. Are the Yobuko summoning the Ear God? Or—
