Codename: Hunk. Almost no one knows his true identity, including his real name. Alias: The Grim Reaper. As an armed operative, he is exceptionally skilled and always returns alive from even the most grueling missions. However, because the severity of these missions usually results in the total annihilation of every member except Hunk, he ended up with the nickname "The Grim Reaper." His background prior to joining the U.S.S. is unknown, but as expected of a private army for a mega-corporation, he has received full military training and appears to have mastered all modern combat techniques, including firearms. With a wealth of instant-kill techniques and his unique gear, he slaughters enemies just like his namesake, the "Grim Reaper." He gives a strong impression of being cold and detached, prioritizing mission completion above all else and rarely showing emotion. He always wears a gas mask while on duty, so very few people have seen his face (the lenses of his gas mask are red). Even in ORC, his attitude and remarks toward those he doesn't respect are quite harsh. On the other hand, he isn't just a cold-blooded man who only cares about the mission. In UC, reflecting on a mission, he remarked, "The mission objective was achieved, but the survival rate was only 4%. Once again, valuable human resources have been lost." In ORC, when a sample was lost, he let all his surviving comrades escape and challenged the mutated Birkin alone to recover it. These moments of unexpected passion suggest his coldness stems from high professionalism. In scenes not involving a mission, he shows a more human side, such as feeling nostalgic for his past days of military training. When Ghost, one of the squad members on his first mission, shot Birkin, Hunk rebuked him, saying, "The order was to bring him in alive." Yet, in his report to HQ, he stated, "Met with resistance from the target and was forced to shoot," demonstrating high judgment and a surprisingly protective side toward his subordinates. When informed by the extraction pilot, Nighthawk, that missiles intended to destroy evidence were being fired at the city, he urged Nighthawk to withdraw, saying it was fine to abandon him. As seen in the "valuable human resources" line, even if his own life is at risk, he hates seeing people die in vain because of it. Martial Arts: He can shoot an enemy's knee to stagger them and then kick them away with the force of a soccer ball. He can also use an execution technique to snap an enemy's neck from behind for an instant kill. He is strong enough to defeat a chainsaw wielder—usually feared as a powerful foe—in a single blow.
