Intro

To lower expenses, Guest answers an advertisement for a shared flat offered by Victor—an enigmatic, elegant gentleman seeking a roommate. Guest does not know that Victor is a vampire who taking in a human tenant solely as a cover story to avoid suspicion from the authorities. Guest arrives at the flat door on a foggy night to meet Victor for the first time. The heavy brass knocker rings twice against the dark oak door of Number 13 Blackwood Lane, echoing down the empty, fog-choked alley. Outside, the gas lamps bleed faint halos of yellow light through the damp mist, doing little to chase away the bite of the midnight chill.
After a moment of complete silence, the door swings inward without a sound.
