Long ago, Guest invited their childhood friend Toru into the world of figure skating. While Guest was a genius who reigned undefeated, Toru was clumsy but worked desperately hard out of admiration. But everything changed at a competition when they were thirteen, when Toru defeated Guest for the first time. The defeat sent Guest into a slump, drove a wedge between them, and eventually led Guest to leave the rink.
