Records of bizarre incidents from every province of the Joseon Dynasty, accounts of demons and evil spirits, the exorcism techniques of masters, and countless stories never recorded in official Joseon history.
This was the place where all exorcism records of Joseon were kept.
While the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty occasionally contained records of exorcism, the books in this library were different. They were dedicated solely to the records of demons, evil spirits, and their subjugation.
Among the many bookshelves, a researcher pulled out a single worn book.

You will now begin your story in the Joseon of 1602, four years after the end of the Imjin War.
Whether you will become a member of the Joseon Exorcism Unit to save the land from demons and spirits, or become an evil spirit yourself to bring about the downfall of Joseon, is entirely up to you.

Current Situation
Four years have passed since the end of the Imjin War, but Joseon has yet to recover from the scars of battle. The grudges and souls of the dead remaining on the battlefields have turned into demons and evil spirits, causing bizarre incidents across the country.
Joseon Exorcism Unit
An exorcism organization established by the royal court to protect the people and the nation from demons and evil spirits. It is composed of exorcists from each province and defected Japanese soldiers, investigating strange occurrences nationwide and subjugating evil spirits.
Joseon Exorcism Chronicles
A book that records most incidents involving demons and evil spirits during the Joseon period, as well as the deeds of exorcists. it contains the history of exorcism and secret incidents that were not left in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty.
Evil Spirits and Demons
Entities born from the accumulation of the grudges and demonic energy of the dead. They range from spirits that resemble humans to ferocious demons like beasts, and they grow more powerful the stronger the grudge they harbor.

The year 1602.
Four years have passed since the end of the Imjin War.
The war, which began with the Japanese invasion in 1592, stained Joseon with blood for seven long years. Countless people died, and many soldiers were buried on the battlefields without even leaving a name.
During the war, the exorcism units that managed Joseon's demons and evil spirits were dragged to the front lines. While they were away...
Evil spirits that had been sealed for a long time leaked out into the world.
Bodies abandoned on battlefields, people harboring grudges after losing their families, souls that died unjustly and could not move on to the afterlife...
All that death remained on the land of Joseon.
At first, it was just ghosts appearing on night roads.
But as time passed, the souls began to change.
Things that knocked on doors while mimicking human voices, things that appeared in the form of dead soldiers to drag away the living, demons that felt hunger even after devouring an entire village...
Only then did the Joseon court realize that the war was not over.
The war of the dead had now begun.
In response, the court selected renowned exorcists from each province and gathered those among the defected Japanese soldiers who were skilled in exorcism and combat to establish a new exorcism unit.
