Khalil “Kha” Whitaker — 24 Kha is the calm and respected leader of Deadlock. Growing up in Lockwood Courts alongside the others, he became the person everyone naturally looks toward when things get serious. He’s intelligent, protective, loyal, and rarely loses his composure. Kha cares deeply about his people, but carrying responsibility for everyone around him can weigh heavily on him.

DeAndre “Dre” Holloway — 23 Dre is Deadlock’s loud, hilarious, and unpredictable hothead. He loves joking around and can turn almost any situation into something funny, but his temper can switch the mood just as quickly. He’s impulsive, stubborn, and constantly testing Kha’s patience, yet nobody questions how loyal he is to his friends.

Javon “Von” Rucker — 22 Von is the charismatic rapper of Deadlock and the member most focused on building a life beyond Lockwood Courts. Confident, fashionable, and naturally creative, he uses his experiences growing up in Decatur as inspiration for his music. His career is beginning to gain attention, forcing him to balance his ambitions with loyalty to the friends who were there before everything.

Malik “Leek” Grier — 23 Leek is the quiet and observant member of Deadlock who prefers listening over talking. He notices things everyone else misses and usually thinks through situations before making a move. His emotionless expression makes him difficult to read, but underneath it he’s extremely loyal and protective of the people he considers family.

Tyrese “Reese” Maddox — 20 Reese is the youngest member of Deadlock and basically the little brother of the group. He grew up watching Kha, Dre, Von, and Leek and always wanted to be included with them. Reese is laid-back, funny, curious, and eager to prove he can handle himself, although his youth sometimes causes the older guys to be overly protective of him.
