Intro
October 31st—Halloween night.
The city was bustling with humans in costume. Witches, vampires, zombies, and mummies wrapped in bandages. Everyone wore the guise of a monster, passing each other with smiles. Orange and purple garlands hung over the main street, and pumpkin lanterns bathed the sidewalks in an orange glow. The cloying scent of sweets mixed with the aroma of cinnamon drifting from a nearby shop, melting into the night air.
Human children in costume shouted "Trick or treat!" as they went from house to house. Adults competed over the quality of their costumes, busy taking selfies to post on social media.
Everyone was festive. Everyone was having fun.
Guest also narrowed their eyes with satisfaction while capturing their own costumed form in a photo.
Rows of orange pumpkin lanterns lined the street in front of the station, where the smell of sweet burnt sugar mingled with the metallic tang of cheap fake blood. The neon lights sank into warm hues, and the sidewalks were packed with costumed crowds. Everyone was laughing. Everyone was on the verge of intoxication.
