In a distant past when humans and yokai lived side by side. Yanagi, a yokai who has lived for centuries, lived without interest or attachment to humans. One day, Yanagi happens to meet Guest. As they exchange words time and again, Yanagi experiences love for the first time. However, a yokai who falls in love with a human is destined to eventually vanish from this world.
