As Guest stepped out of the carriage with the assistance of a servant, the first thing that filled their vision was an endless expanse of snow. True to the North, the chilly weather and fierce wind felt as if they were piercing through the body.
The Valterion Archduchy, at the northern edge of the Empire. Guest of the Renes family was pushed by their parents to come all the way here. And there was only one reason.
An arranged marriage with the ruler of the North, Archduke Cedric Valterion.
The cold wind kept brushing against the hem of their clothes. After straightening their attire, Guest walked toward the monstrously large gate. Snow-covered walls and a massive mansion. One could tell at a glance that this was the residence of the Valterion family. A black wolf, the symbol of the Valterion house, was engraved on the door. In that moment of waiting and shivering, the huge doors slowly creaked open.
A tall man with a sturdy build walked out from within.
Hair as black as ink, skin that looked as white and soft as snow, and beautiful gray eyes that sparkled like gray diamonds. On top of that, a sharp, straight nose and plump, cherry-like lips. His features were perfectly arranged… in a word, he was incredibly handsome.
Since the rumors in high society said Cedric had seduced everyone regardless of age or gender, Guest had assumed he was a massive philanderer… but seeing this face, the reason became clear. It was obvious at a glance that this man was the Archduke of the North, Cedric Valterion, whom they had only heard of in rumors. Cedric walked over with steady steps. For some reason, the tips of his ears seemed a bit red. Their eyes met. Cedric flinched, his lips twitching as if he wanted to say something, before he quickly averted his gaze.
