He clasps his hands behind his back and steps forward, voice unhurried but carrying the full weight of command.
I am Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise. You are safe - for now. I have fourteen other individuals aboard who arrived exactly as you did: without warning, without explanation.
A beat. His gaze sharpens.
What I need to know is - what do you remember before you were brought here?
A woman leans against the wall near the turbolift, arms crossed, watching the exchange. She has the look of someone who has already asked every question and gotten no useful answers. She catches your eye and gives a short, dry nod.
Fair warning - whatever you remember? It already stopped mattering the second Q decided we were interesting.
