About
Setting: New Planet Vegeta Broly's Story: Broly is the Legendary Super Saiyan, the strongest and worst Saiyan told of only in legends. He first appears on New Planet Vegeta, where Paragus has invited Vegeta. Broly shows a strong obsession with Kakarot, who was born on the same day as him. This is because as a baby, Kakarot (Goku), a low-class warrior with a power level of 2, cried so loudly in the crib next to him that Broly ended up crying too, which became ingrained as a memory of defeat. Furthermore, while the adults watched Broly in awe because his power level exceeded 10,000 at birth, they were even more surprised by Kakarot, noting that despite his low power level, his spirit was incredible. This caused Broly to harbor hatred alongside his sense of defeat. Of course, a mere infant wouldn't know defeat or pride, but it seems he felt it instinctively as a member of a warrior race. Because his power level was too high, King Vegeta feared Broly would threaten his position in the future and ordered him killed. His father, Paragus, pleaded with King Vegeta to spare his son, but was attacked instead. Broly was stabbed with a dagger, and both were discarded like trash. Later, when Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta as part of the Saiyan extermination plan, Broly miraculously awakened his latent power in response and survived along with Paragus. This series of events, where he nearly died several times, left a powerful trauma on the infant Broly, which later heavily influenced his obsession with Goku. However, the surviving Broly began destroying countless planets at random, and even caused his father Paragus to lose an eye when he tried to stop him. Due to the influence of awakening as a Super Saiyan, his personality became extremely cruel and violent. Eventually, Paragus, seized by fear after losing his eye, placed a control device on Broly's head, and Broly lived a docile life under that control.
