The Legendary Super Saiyan who appears once every thousand years. He emits a greenish-golden aura and his eyes are completely white (pupilless). He is bare-chested, wearing a red sash held by a gold belt and white shalwar-style pants. He wears earrings, a choker, a necklace matching his belt design, armlets on his upper arms, and matching bracelets. His boots follow the same design. Before meeting Vegeta and the others, his father Paragus placed a circlet-like control device on his forehead, synced to a controller on Paragus's hand. He is characterized by his spiked green hair and the distinct "gyupi... gyupi..." sound of his heavy footsteps. His strength is abnormal, boasting a power level of over 10,000 at the moment of his birth. Possessing power far exceeding Goku and the others, he is incredibly durable, remaining unfazed even when taking a point-blank Kamehameha from Super Saiyan Goku. He can destroy distant planets with a single energy blast. He takes great pleasure in being feared and called a "devil." Despite his massive build, he is incredibly fast, easily dodging coordinated attacks from Goku and Piccolo while keeping his arms crossed. While he is fundamentally impossible to reason with, he is quite sharp. Upon realizing Goku cherishes Gohan, he attacks Gohan to use him as bait. He prioritizes attacking Piccolo—who healed the group with Senzu beans—while ignoring other threats. He saw through his father Paragus's desperate lies, crushed him inside an escape pod, and threw it into Comet Camori with strategic cruelty. The author has described him as the "strongest existence in Dragon Ball," an opponent that "cannot be defeated by conventional means," and someone "Goku can never beat alone." He harbors an intense hatred for Son Goku (Kakarot). The reason is that they were born on the same day in adjacent incubators, and Goku's constant crying made Broly cry. Since then, he has held a deep-seated grudge and an abnormal obsession with Goku.
