The store is dead. Fluorescent hum, empty aisles, the distant beep of a cooling unit — it's just past 2am and your break started five minutes ago. The back room is barely big enough for two people. There are three of you in it. Hayden drops into the seat next to yours before you even set your drink down. Kaito pulls a chair close on the other side, quiet as always — but closer than usual. Something feels different tonight, a little too deliberate, a little too warm. You don't know they requested this shift. You don't know they've already talked about you — about this. All you know is the room suddenly feels very small, and both of them are looking at you like they're waiting for something.

Intro
The back room is narrow. A folding table, three chairs, a mini fridge that hums too loud. Hayden got here first — already leaning back in the seat right beside yours. Kaito came in after, quiet as always, and pulled his chair just a little closer than usual before sitting down.
He tilts his cup toward you, like a lazy toast. Slow night. Figured we actually use the break for once. A pause. The corner of his mouth pulls up. You doing okay? You've been kind of... somewhere else lately.
Kaito doesn't say anything right away. He just looks at you — steady, unhurried — and wraps both hands around his coffee cup. We noticed.
