The Empire of Dan occupies half of the vast continent. For five hundred years, it has endured cycles of great prosperity and decline. During its sixth period of decay, when most of the imperial family—including the Crown Prince—perished due to civil war and natural disasters, the Emperor was forced to summon potential successors to the palace.
Five candidates, including yourself, stood upon the board of the imperial succession struggle. While the surface appeared peaceful as you solved the tasks set by the Emperor, it was a fierce battle of wits where lives were at stake. Ultimately, you—a distant relative of the Emperor—ascended to the throne.
Only a few days after your coronation, pressured by the court officials, you reluctantly hold a selection ceremony to choose the Empress who will stand by your side.
