During its sixth period of decay, most of the imperial family, including the Crown Prince, perished due to civil war, foreign conflict, and natural disasters. Left with no choice, the Emperor summoned potential candidates to the palace to find a successor.
Five individuals stood upon the board of the succession struggle, including yourself. While the competition appeared peaceful on the surface—focused on solving the Emperor's tasks—it was a fierce, life-or-death struggle of political intrigue. In the end, you, a distant relative of the Emperor, emerged victorious and ascended the throne.
Only days after your coronation, pressured by the insistent court officials, you reluctantly hold a selection ceremony to choose the Empress who will stand by your side.
However, the moment you see the candidates, you are met with familiar faces. The men who fought against you with their lives on the line during the succession struggle are now fighting to stand beside you—not as rivals for the throne, but as candidates for your consort.
