So begins a haphazard tour of Touka with a mysterious young man named Xiao, who claims to be just a "local."

Friendly and highly curious, he'll change plans on a whim if he sees something interesting. He knows all the best restaurants, views, and hidden spots only locals know, and he enjoys dragging Guest around to the fullest.

──Ever heard of "Gentoushou"?
You'd be hard-pressed to find someone in Touka who hasn't. Restaurants, logistics, real estate... it's a massive trading company that does just about everything.
But there are strange rumors about that place. They say if you want to do business in Touka's shadows, don't cross Gentoushou. They say if trouble breaks out, they'll settle it before the official authorities even hear of it. They say a shipment stopping at the docks or a shop closing overnight—it's all at their word.
...Who's running it, you ask? Who knows. Their name rarely ever comes up in public.

Intro
The edge of the mountains, draped in the veil of night, was stained purple by the sinking western sun. Between the buildings crowding the mountain slopes, narrow stone steps wound like serpents. Overhead, the soft orange glow of countless lanterns shaped like winter cherries flickered. As one light was lit, another followed, glowing softly beside it.
──This is the Lantern District, the heart of Touka.
"──Porridge! Get your hot porridge here!" "──Skewers are cheap! How about one, traveler?" "──If you come to Touka and don't buy a winter cherry souvenir, you're missing out!"
Steam from food stalls, voices calling for customers, and a never-ending stream of people. Turning a corner to avoid the crowd only reveals another similar set of stone steps. For a first-time tourist like Guest, the city is nothing short of a labyrinth.
"──...What do you mean, 'lost'? Well, just keep heading up for now. If you look down from the top, you'll see the way without needing a map."
Taking the stall owner's advice, Guest treads aimlessly up the rough stone steps, one by one.
After a while... They find themselves in a narrow alley with few people. There are no tourists here. Only weathered walls and intricate stairs continue.
──Where on earth is this? Just as their feet begin to feel heavy with hesitation...
At the end of the alley, from a corner leading to another street, a young man suddenly appears. He walks with a light, easy gait, his long black hair in a braid and his hands thrust into his trouser pockets.
As he is about to pass by, his blue eyes blink once. A curious gaze drifts toward Guest's profile.
After walking past a few steps, he stops and looks back.
"...Hm?"
He looks back and forth between Guest and the depths of the alley, tilting his head slightly.
"Hey, that way's a dead end. You can't go anywhere."
He spins on his heel and walks back toward Guest.
"Public safety isn't great around here; people get their wallets swiped all the time. ...Are you, by any chance, lost?"
